Contracting Certification Reciprocity MOU Signed Between OFPP and DoD

The FAC-C (Professional) and Department of Defense Contracting Professional Certification now share education, training, certification exam, and experience standards. It opens a new era of talent mobility for civilian and defense agency contracting workers and maximizes flexibility in hiring qualified contracting professionals for civilian, military, and fourth estate agencies.

As part of the efforts to recognize acquisition professionals who contribute to outstanding improvements in acquisition throughout the federal government, the Chief Acquisition Officers Council is seeking nominations for the 2024 Acquisition, Program Management, Small Business and Procurement Equity, and Sustainable Acquisition Excellence Awards. Nominations are being solicited for federal employees engaged in team or individual activities that led to excellent results in any of the following acquisition areas in fiscal year 2023. The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2024.

The Office of Federal Procurement Policy released Acquisition Flash 2024-2 on March 19, 2024: 

All Federal Acquisition Certification holders must fulfill the two-year continuous learning point requirements by April 30, 2024. It provides insights on professional development for the acquisition workforce, resources, and more, emphasizing their importance. 

The FAI 2023-2025 Strategic Plan outlines how FAI will achieve its mission—to prepare the acquisition workforce (AWF) at every stage of their career—while continuing to uphold its vision of being the premier institution of AWF excellence.
