Breakout Session 4.1
GHG Baselines
Room E1/E2
Moderator: Amy K. Coplen, Department of Energy, Sandia National Laboratory
Learn about the various approaches that are being used to develop GHG baselines in the Federal community. Starting in 2009, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is required to report on its greenhouse gas emissions for the calendar year 2008 and every year thereafter. LANL has chosen to use The Climate Registry as its reporting medium. Several top-down GHG inventory approaches have been developed within the Federal community. Bottom-up GHG inventory efforts are also emerging at Federal facilities. Together, they ultimately can produce more robust and comprehensive institutional GHG management.
