In 2008, there will be an East Symposium and a West Symposium. The symposia are open to Federal employees and contractors currently representing their Federal agencies.

The East Symposium, hosted by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), will be held at the Natcher Conference Center (building 45), on June 2 - 4, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The conference center is located on the campus of the NIH, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892. Government ID will be required for entry to the NIH campus. Registration for Symposium East is now closed.

There will be Green Purchasing Training offered again this year at Symposium East for government employees.  Certificates will be issued upon completion but you will need to check with your Agency on whether it will count toward acquisition training.  More on Green Purchasing Training can be found here.

The West Symposium, sponsored by the Commander Navy Region Southwest Integrated Solid Waste Program, and hosted by the Federal Network for Sustainability - West and supported by several federal land agencies within the greater Yellowstone region, will be held at the Big Sky Resort, 1 Lone Mountain Trail, Big Sky, MT 59716, on June 17 - 19, 2008. This year, a small admission fee ( $125 for Symposium East [excluding DHHS employees, exhibitors, and selected speakers] and $275 for Symposium West [includes meals] ) will be collected from each participant to cover the costs of registration.
