Threatened Species Status With Section 4(d) Rule and Critical Habitat Designation for Atlantic Pigtoe (Draft)
Oct. 11, 2018
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) announces a 12-month finding on a petition to list the Atlantic pigtoe (Fusconaia masoni) as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act). FWS also proposes to designate critical habitat under the Act. In total, approximately 542 river miles (872 river kilometers) in Virginia and North Carolina fall within the boundaries of the proposed critical habitat designation. A draft economic analysis (DEA) of the proposed designation of critical habitat is available. Comments must be received or postmarked on or before 10 December 2018.
