This is a voluntary EPA program that supports the organizational procurement of green power by offering expert advice, technical support, tools and resources.

This is a publicly available web site that helps users identify applicable federal green purchasing requirements for products and services. The GPC consolidates information from a variety of sources, making it a comprehensive green purchasing resource for the federal acquisition workforce. The green services guidance addresses product requirements and optional practices that federal buyers may incorporate into service contracts. The green products section identifies all product types covered by mandatory and non-mandatory federal environmental programs, including BioPreferred, Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines, Design for the Environment, Energy Star, EPEAT, Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP), and WaterSense. The GPC also identifies applicable FAR requirements, lists potential purchasing options, and offers links to federal environmental program web sites.

The overall design of both product and service pages have been improved. Photos have been added for each product improving the visual appeal of the pages. In addition, product descriptions have been provided for each GPC product giving users a better understanding of each product. In particular, for products with EPA Recommended Standards, Specifications and Ecolabels, the "Procurement Info" section has been updated with the additional tiered requirements; the schedules listed under "Where to Buy" are now hyperlinked allowing you to go directly from the GPC to GSA eLibrary where you can find additional procurement information; mobile phones have been added to the GPC under "Office Electronics" with an EPEAT requirement; and you can now find Products by Environmental Program via the Environmental Programs page

This is a compilation of the products for which EPA, DOE, and USDA have provided environmental or energy attribute recommendations. Product and services specifiers and contracting officials can find all of the designated products in an easy to use series of spreadsheets. The designated green products are separated into 18 spreadsheets including, but not limited to: Building Construction; Landscaping; Building Interior; Building Finishes; Paper Office Products; Printing; Non-Paper Office Products; Office Electronics; Renewable Energy; Vehicle Products; Cleaning Products; Lubricants, Oils, Hydraulic Fluids and Greases; and Miscellaneous. Version 10 of the Green Products Compilation includes additional biobased products designated by USDA in the BioPreferred Program, water efficient products from EPA's WaterSense Program and, for the first time, products listed in EPA's Design for the Environment Program (DfE). DfE products have less toxic and hazardous constituents than competing products. Purchasing and using them can help agencies meet their executive order pollution prevention goals. One required element of these programs is annual review and monitoring of the program (i.e., compliance monitoring) This document identifies compliance monitoring options already in use within the Federal government. This technology primer, EPA Document # 542-R-08-002, outlines the principles of green remediation and describes opportunities to reduce the footprint of cleanup activities throughout the life of a project. Best management practices (BMPs) outlined in this document help decision-makers, communities, and other stakeholders (such as project managers, field staff, and engineering contractors) identify new strategies in terms of sustainability. The Green Restaurant Association (GRA), a national non-profit organization, provides services in research, consulting, education, marketing and community organizing. This collection of solutions provides guidance on establishing a green revolving fund to overcome a lack of dedicated capital. A green revolving fund is an internal capital pool dedicated to funding energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability projects that generate cost savings. A portion of those savings is then used to replenish the fund, establishing an ongoing funding vehicle to help drive energy efficiency and sustainability investment over time.

Participating DOE sites can qualify for GreenBuy Awards at three levels --Gold, Silver, or Bronze-- by meeting goals of product types in the Sustainable Product List. The awards become progressively more challenging over time, encouraging participants to transition to more and more sustainable products. Awardees will be recognized for the same or higher level in subsequent years but not a lower level. The Sustainable Products List changes each year. The Department of Energy has announced the DOE GreenBuy Award winners for fiscal year 2014.

This is an EPA cooperative alliance with the supermarket industry and other stakeholders to promote the adoption of technologies, strategies, and practices that reduce emissions of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and greenhouse gases (GHGs) and increase refrigeration system energy efficiency.

The EPA Greener Products portal is designed to help the user navigate the increasingly important and complex world of greener products. It allows users to search for EPA programs related to greener products based on the type of user and their specific product interests. It also links to additional greener products information from EPA and other sources.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., October 19, 2011) – The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) today announced the keynote speakers and plenary session panelists who will kickoff the 2011 GreenGov Symposium, to be held October 31 – November 2, at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. Nancy Sutley, Chair of CEQ, will deliver welcoming remarks, and Jack Lew, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will deliver the first keynote address of GreenGov 2011. The first day plenary session will feature clean energy and green leaders, including award-winning journalist and associate professor at the University of Kansas School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Simran Sethi, and renowned explorer, social entrepreneur, and environmental advocate Philippe Cousteau Jr. among others to discuss how they see the Federal Government can lead by example in sustainability.

A custom-designed training video explaining use of the FEMP Reporting Portal v.1.6 is now available. The Greenhouse Gas and Sustainability Data Report Demonstration provides a step-by-step guide on completing each tab of the Greenhouse Gas and Sustainability Data Report (Excel 2007 spreadsheet) for inventory and reporting Federal agency greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3. This video was recorded on November 15, 2010 and is presented by John Nangle of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Individual modules cover each element of the report spreadsheet and each can be accessed separately once the player is opened.

The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Customized Search retrieves data from the GHF database in Envirofacts. GHG Customized Search allows the user to create a report on multiple subject areas using the most comprehensive set of GHG data elements. The report is viewable as an HTML tabular report or downloadable as a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file.

EPA has extended the deadline for reporting 2010 GHG data to September 30, 2011. This extension will allow EPA to further test the system that reporters will use to submit data, and give industry the opportunity to test the tool, provide feedback and have sufficient time to become familiar with it prior to reporting.

This calculator translates rather difficult to understand statements such as "a metric ton of carbon dioxide: into more commonplace terms, such as "is equivalent to avoiding the carbon dioxide emissions of X number of cars annually." This equivalency calculator may be useful in communicating a greenhouse gas reduction strategy, reduction targets, or other initiatives aimed at reducing GHG emissions.
