Primary topics include: legal foundations, information/data sources, tools, mitigation measures, and documentation requirements including examples.
Note: Slide 13 - How to Locate Natural Areas suggests to check for listings at state and local levels for more information. While there is no single comprehensive listing of all natural areas, good sources of data include National Natural Landmarks Directory (https://www.nps.gov/subjects/nnlandmarks/nation.htm); USFS Research Natural Areas (https://www.fs.fed.us/rmrs/research-natural-areas); and The Nature Conservancy's listing by state of Places We Protect (http://www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/unitedstates/index.htm?intc=nature.tnav.ourwork).
This webinar is sponsored by the USDA NRCS Central National Technology Support Center and Ecological Sciences Division.
