A Message from the 2022 Federal Environmental Symposium Planning Committee
In light of the current COVID-19 situation that we are all facing, the next Federal Environmental Symposium will be conducted in Webinar format only, during the week of March 28-31, 2022.
In November 2021, the FES Planning Committee will issue a Call for Presentations to invite all of our past participants, along with all new interested federal agency personnel and their supporting partners, to submit candidate abstracts for presentation at this 2022 event.
This year's theme, "Mission, Environment, and Our Community", will focus upon nine important topic categories the committee feels are relevant and current to the environmental issues we face today, and, will aid in helping agencies meet various environmental goals set by the Biden-Harris Administration. Categories selected are:
- Management Systems - ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 50001 (Energy), ISO 22000 (Risk Assessment), ISO 46001 (Water)
- Environmental Compliance
- NEPA: Protecting our Nation’s Natural and Historic Resources
- Energy and Water Conservation
- Sustainability
- Resiliency
- Emerging Chemicals (i.e. PFAS)
- Management of Toxic Substances
- Environmental Justice
A more thorough description of each category and related topic areas can be found
