Facilities Generating Medical Hazardous Waste


Medical hazardous waste is generated at hospitals, clinics, and may be generated during emergency response operations as well. Medical hazardous waste includes, but is not limited to, sterilants and disinfectants such as ethylene oxide and glutaraldehyde, mercury, chemotherapy and antineoplastic chemicals, photographic chemicals, some pharmaceutical wastes which are U-listed wastes, and scavenging unit charcoal filters. Medical waste is regulated separately by OSHA.
