The award, presented at the Environment for the Americas International Migratory Bird Day event at the Embassy of Canada in Washington D.C., recognizes DoDs multi-year Migratory Linkages of Burrowing Owls on Department of Defense Installations and Adjacent Lands project. The Presidential Migratory Bird Stewardship Award annually recognizes a single project or action conducted by or in partnership with a Federal agency that meets the intent and spirit of the Executive Order 13186 (Responsibilities of Federal Agencies to Protect Migratory Birds) by focusing on migratory bird conservation.
