Renewable Energy / Energy Efficiency Webinar June 27th
EPA's Federal Green Challenge Web Academy will host a free webinar "Understanding the Role of Behavioral Change in Implementing Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Projects" on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 1:30-3:00PM EDT. The webinar examines the pivotal role of behavioral change in implementing sustainability projects, specifically the development of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency efforts at federal facilities. The webinar describes concrete steps to install large scale photovoltaic arrays, improved boiler efficiency, and procure energy efficient products. Everyone is welcome to attend, but space is limited. To register, please go to https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/776190082.

The webinar will feature presentations by:

Behavior Change for Promoting Energy Projects

Speaker: Christopher Payne, DOE, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory

Topic: This presentation discusses the elements of institutional change and how it relates to the implementation of successful energy projects, including the procurement and use of energy efficient products.

Facility Heating and Energy Efficiency

Speaker: Don Morris, Hanscom Air Force Base

Topic: Hanscom Air Force Base's energy efficiency efforts include better insulation on boiler steam and condensate lines and the use of boilers that reuses waste heat.

Large Scale Installation of Photovoltaic Arrays

Presenter: Adam Wright, Vermont Air National Guard

Topic:  The Vermont Air National Guard installed a 2.16 megawatt solar energy project consisting of 7,000 individual 230 watt solar panels covering over 11 acres.  This project is meeting 34 percent of the Guard's electricity needs.
