The EPA is closing the reopened comment period on the proposed Standards of Performance for New Stationary Sources and Emission Guidelines for Existing Sources: Large Municipal Waste Combustors Voluntary Remand Response and 5-Year Review. The original proposed rule was published on 23 January 2024, with a 60-day comment period closing 25 March 2024. This comment period was reopened on 16 January 2025, for an additional 6 months. The EPA is providing notice that the comment period for this rule will now close on 30 May 2025. EPA believes that a 6.5-month comment period in total is sufficient for interested stakeholders to submit comments and additional data.
