Partnering with EPA to Address Lead (Pb) in Drinking Water (Web-based)
EPA collaborates with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to protect public health from environmental threats and strengthen environmental health systems nationwide. A key priority is addressing lead (Pb) exposure through collaboration among state environmental and health agencies. Over the past year, ASTHO and ECOS hosted regional listening sessions with state agencies to explore cross-agency coordination on lead across environmental media, data and study sharing, and opportunities to strengthen connections among state agency staff and EPA. The sessions also identified commonly used resources supporting state lead programs, highlighted resource gaps, and gathered information to inform a summary of findings. This webinar will present the listening session results, including overarching themes, state program highlights, and key outcomes, and discuss plans to build on this collaborative work in the coming year.
