The goal of the West Coast Collaborative is to leverage significant federal funds to reduce emissions from the most polluting diesel sources in the most affected communities and to significantly improve air quality and public health.

Investing in energy strategies that lower emissions can be an effective way for state, local and Tribal governments to achieve multiple goals: improving air quality and public health, strengthen their energy systems, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving money. EPA offers free tools, data and technical expertise about energy strategies, including energy efficiency, renewable energy and other emerging technologies, to help state, local and tribal governments achieve their environmental, energy, and economic objectives. While many of these resources were developed for state and local governments, Tribes may also find them useful.

The CHP Partnership is a voluntary program that seeks to reduce the environmental impact of power generation by promoting the use of CHP.The Partnership works closely with energy users, the CHP industry, state and local governments, and other stakeholders to support the development of new projects and promote their energy, environmental, and economic benefits.

This group partners and facilitates communications with Federal agencies, utilities and energy service companies to implement cost-effective energy efficiency and water conservation projects. The Working Group meets three times a year to exchange information on recent utility incentive program success stories, current FEMP programs and products, individual agency energy management programs, and reports from the various Working Group subcommittees.

The program partners will transparently report systematic and comprehensive actions to reduce methane emissions and be publicly recognized as leaders in reducing methane emissions in the U.S. Doing so reduces operational risk, increases efficiency, and demonstrates company concern for the environment, with benefits spanning from climate change to air quality improvements to conservation of a non-renewable energy resource.
