EPA is releasing the final Geologic Sequestration of Carbon Dioxide Guidance. This guidance will assist permit applicants and owners or operators in submitting and managing the large volumes of information associated with Class VI geologic sequestration projects. The guidance identifies common file formats used for geologic data and technical reports and describes how Class VI permit applicants and owners or operators can use the Agency's electronic Geologic Sequestration Data Tool to meet the Class VI electronic reporting requirements throughout the duration of a Class VI project.

This report is the Second National Climate Assessment. It summarizes the science of climate change and the impacts of climate change on the United States, at present and in the future. It is largely based on results of USGCRP research, and integrates those results with related research from around the world. This report discusses climate-related impacts for various societal and environmental sectors and regions across the nation. It is an authoritative scientific report written in plain language, with the goal of better informing public and private decision making at all levels. The Global Electronics Council (GEC) is a mission-driven nonprofit that leverages the power of purchasers to create a world where only sustainable technology is bought and sold. GEC manages the EPEAT ecolabel, a free resource for procurement professionals to identify and select more sustainable products. In addition, the EPEAT ecolabel is a resource for manufacturers to demonstrate that their products conform to the highest sustainability standards. Since its launch in 2006, procurement professionals have reported purchases of 2.4 billion EPEAT products, generating cost savings of $24.6 billion USD and a reduction of 286 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

Established in 2003, the network aims to accelerate the use of the Ecological Footprint Tool, a resource accounting tool that measures how much nature we have, how much we use, and who uses what.Ecological Footprints can be calculated for individuals, groups of people (such as a nation), and activities (such as manufacturing a product). The Ecological Footprint is a data-driven metric that tells us how close we are to the goal of sustainable living. Footprint accounts work like bank statements, documenting whether we are living within our ecological budget or consuming nature's resources faster than the planet can renew them.

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) has issued Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) DE-FOA-0000901 on the EERE Exchange titled "Assisting Federal Facilities with Energy Conservation Technologies." The AFFECT FOA will provide direct funding to U.S. Federal agencies for the development of combined heat and power or renewable energy capital projects at agency facilities. Letters of intent (LOI) are due by 10 December 2013, and full applications are due by 18 February 2014. A webinar will be held on 12 November 2013 to provide information and answer questions.

EPA has announced the selection of 24 recipients that will receive nearly $16 million in P2 grants made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law's historic $100 million program investment. The selections are for two grant programs. One grant program will provide P2 businesses with technical assistance to improve health and the environment in disadvantaged communities. A second grant program will assist empower businesses to increase the supply, demand, and use of safer and more sustainable products.

For the first time, Pollution Prevention and Source Reduction Assistance Grants (between 2011 and 2022) have topped the one-billion-pound mark for reductions in hazardous materials and pollutants. In addition, cost savings of $2.3 billion resulted from companies buying fewer hazardous materials and shipping less hazardous waste, reducing regulated air emissions, treating less wastewater and buying less water, fuel and energy. Further success from these grants includes 20.8 million metric tons of greenhouse gas reductions and 31.9 billion kilowatt hour savings achieved mostly through energy efficiency and reduced use of energy.

Your scope may be your local community. It may be statewide. Your focus may be as broad as climate change or as specific as LED lighting installation. Your project might need a little funding, or a lot. Whatever your project parameters, one of our funding programs may be able to help. Over decades, DEP has supported many thousands of environmental projects across the state through widely recognized grant programs, such as Growing Greener, and also more specialized programs. The majority of funding programs support projects by schools, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. We also have six programs that support businesses small and large, and for residents, the popular Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate supports the purchase of clean-energy cars and trucks. In addition, some programs give extra consideration to applicants in environmental justice areas.

This tool quantifies the projected environmental benefits of purchasing and using "green" janitorial services and products. It is designed to forecast the environmental benefits of reducing chemical use by doing some or all pollution prevention measures typically involved in the routine interior cleaning of an office building. This tool also enables users to identify which green cleaning measures will have the greatest impact in reducing their use of hazardous chemicals and in preventing pollution. The Calculator's output applies only to standard office cleaning products and practices, and does not apply to other building maintenance issues, such as equipment maintenance, pest control, or landscaping activities.

The Green Electronics Council (GEC), the organization that manages the EPEAT ecolabel, announced its 2018 EPEAT Purchaser Award winners on May 14th at a ceremony in Minneapolis, MN. The awards program honors organizations that show leadership in the procurement of sustainable IT products. This year's awardees include national and local governments, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, K-12 schools, institutions of higher learning, and businesses from around the globe. Multiple federal agencies were honored across the product categories: PCs and Displays, Imaging Equipment, Mobile Phones, and Televisions.

Can your federal facility go green and save money? With the cost of solar energy declining, more federal facilities can add on-site solar for less than the cost of grid-based electricity. In addition, product descriptions have been provided for each GPC product giving users a better understanding of each product. In particular, for products with EPA Recommended Standards, Specifications and Ecolabels, the "Procurement Info" section has been updated with the additional tiered requirements; the schedules listed under "Where to Buy" are now hyperlinked allowing you to go directly from the GPC to GSA eLibrary where you can find additional procurement information; mobile phones have been added to the GPC under "Office Electronics" with an EPEAT requirement; and you can now find Products by Environmental Program via the Environmental Programs page

A green revolving fund is an internal capital pool dedicated to funding energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability projects that generate cost savings. Nancy Sutley, Chair of CEQ, will deliver welcoming remarks, and Jack Lew, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will deliver the first keynote address of GreenGov 2011. The first day plenary session will feature clean energy and green leaders, including award-winning journalist and associate professor at the University of Kansas School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Simran Sethi, and renowned explorer, social entrepreneur, and environmental advocate Philippe Cousteau Jr. among others to discuss how they see the Federal Government can lead by example in sustainability.
